McDonalds Diet

How the Program is suppose to work:
In an attempt to discover whether or not McDonald’s
food is really as wholesome as it claims, filmmaker Morgan Spurlock ate
all of his meals from the restaurant for one month
Concept:
He recorded the experience for his award-winning documentary, “Super
Size Me Spurlock’s
plan consisted of very specific rules: (1) He could consume only foods
listed on the McDonald’s menu (including water), (2) He would choose the
“Supersize” option whenever it was offered, and (3) He had to try each
menu item at least once. In order to more closely approximate the
lifestyle of the average American, Spurlock also wore a pedometer and
significantly reduced the number of steps he took in a day. Needless to
say, he did not exercise.
In order to track his progress, Spurlock consulted with a team of doctors
and nutritionists. He submitted to a full workup of tests before beginning
the diet, all of which revealed him to be an exceptionally healthy
33-year-old man. During the diet, he checked in regularly with his team of
experts.
Positive Aspects:
Thanks to Spurlock’s film,
McDonald’s phased out the Super size option at this time
Negative Aspects:
Spurlock’s cholesterol shot up 65
points
Weight gain of 25 lbs
Toxic liver due to excessive saturated fats
Headaches and depression
no immediate boost in metabolism or appetite suppression etc…
Summary: No one in their
right mind would set out to copy Spurlocks diet fiasco. However even to
this day McDonalds still goes to great lengths to entice our kids and
teenagers to buy low cost, unhealthy McDonalds food.
