Fit Into a Size 4 Without Losing Weight

FREE DAILY FITNESS TIP

By Kathy Passero, Special to LifeScript

Fed up with fitting into a size 8 in one brand, a 12 in another, and never quite knowing what size to try or buy? A company called Intellifit has created a high-tech approach to helping women find clothes that fit. Here’s how it works: A shopper steps into a specially designed booth that uses low-level radio waves to scan more than 200,000 data points and accurately gauge her measurements in 10 seconds. The booth then prints out a list of brands and corresponding sizes to fit and flatter her shape. The radio waves pose no health risk, shoppers needn’t disrobe and dimensions are kept confidential. Better yet, it’s free! Participating brands include Gap Inc., Lane Bryant, American Eagle Outfitters Inc., and Levi’s, which offers Intellifit booths at a number of its own stores programmed to suggest various styles of jeans based on a shopper’s measurements and fashion preferences (low-rise, boot-cut, etc.). In search of a better fit but unable to find an Intellifit kiosk near you? Go to intellifit.com for locations, and also check out myshape.com and fitme.com. These sites offer free online programs that allow women to punch in their measurements, indicate their style and fit preferences, and then receive a list of brands and sizes to suit them. So why settle for size 10 jeans at one shop when you can slide into a 4 at a size-friendly store? And remember, whether you love to sew your own threads or browse Rodeo Drive, your clothing is a reflection of your personality
