Change Your Attitude, Change Yourself

 
Looking good can be a lot like being on a diet for some women. One day you feel good about what you are wearing, and then the next day you put on your "ugly" clothes and have an attitude like you've given up. How do you feel about yourself when you do that? Not very good.

 The same thing can happen with diets. If you stick to a strict diet all week, then on the weekend you give in to an indulgence and figure it's like the floodgates have opened and you might as well eat whatever. You feel bad and guilty about your giving up attitude.  This all or nothing philosophy backfires and makes you feel bad - whether it is with the clothes you wear or with what you eat.

 According to JAMA (Journal of the American Medical Association) "the type of diet you are on does not matter as much as your attitude about following it. Experts say that losing weight, keeping it off and staying (getting) healthy is a question of adopting a permanent lifestyle."

 The same can be said with your style. You can't do it some days, and then other days let it go and still feel good about you. This attitude of all or nothing is hurtful! One day you are nice to yourself-then the next day you are beating yourself up! You need to get your attitude and life on a more even keel!


If you are dieting and looking for motivation, a Personal Profile is a great tool. How you look is a strong motivating factor when trying to lose weight. For example, if you have started a weight loss program, beginning to dressing correctly for your body type does wonders for your body image.
